Perennials
We will have asparagus -- lots of it -- annually. This first year (2006) it will be available a shorter time than next, but should start about the middle of April and continue at least until the first week of May, perhaps longer. Beginning in 2007 we are hoping to be able to cut beautiful fresh spears from the middle of April until the middle of June if all goes as planned. Please contact us if you require a large quantity, and we will have it ready at your convenience.
Next in chronological order will come strawberries. They should begin producing about the last week of May each year, always subject to the vagaries of the weather, naturally, and continue for at least three weeks. We will post on our home page what varieties are available in the "Now Picking" section. You are welcome to call and ask us to pick for you, or to come and pick them yourself.
After that will come our beauitiful Apache blackberries. They ripen in July normally and will also be listed on the "Now Picking" section of the home page. These are magnificent, thornless berries, trellised and easy to pick if you care to do so, or we will also pre-pick for you.
Red raspberries are wonderful, and ours are fall bearing. They start ripening in August and continue through the fall until frost. The variety is Heritage, and although they don't bear huge berries as our blackberries do, they are so good tasting that we feel they're worth the extra picking.
